FEEDING GUIDELINE

• Maintenance : 1.5% body weight / day
• Light Work : 1.75% body weight / day
• Medium Work : 2.0% body weight / day
• Heavy Work : 2.5% body weight / day

* For increased hydration, easier chewing, and to slow intake with fast eaters, hay cubes are best fed soaked. Use 2 parts water to 1 part cubes and soak until fully softened. The feeding guidelines are being suggested as “complete hay replacement” and should be fed a minimum of 2x per day.

Hay cubes can be used as a forage extender when quality forage is not available. When replacing long-stem baled hay with forage cubes, you would replace one pound of hay with one pound of dry forage cubes.
