STUDS
Cavallo Hoof Boot crampons give your horse better traction in slippery conditions such as ice, mud and snow. The package includes twelve studs (enough for one pair of boots). When your studs are no longer needed, simply turn your drill upside down and remove them until next time.
- Make sure your boots fit properly and that your horse is used to wearing them before applying studs.
- Always apply studs to both boots for proper balance.
- When drilling, make sure that the stud does not extend beyond the sole of the foot. This can be a particular problem on older boots with worn soles.
- Be careful when installing studs in worn boots, as the sole is thinner than when new. Studs can penetrate older, badly worn soles.
- Always use your best judgment when going out for a ride in slippery conditions. Clogs offer extra traction, but they have their limits.
