Cooler blanket in anti-pilling Fleece (polyester fleece). A Cooler Blanket is used after work (training) during which the horse has sweated. This blanket allows the horse to dry out by effectively absorbing moisture. So the horse won't catch a cold.

 

Coolers are mainly used in cold (or cooler) weather to eliminate the risk of the horse catching a cold. In summer, coolers are often lighter and made of a variety of fibers (other than fleece).
