Fly (and insect) blankets are generally made from a lightweight, breathable mesh material, so that temperatures are maintained at an optimum level despite the blanket. To ensure maximum protection, most fly blankets are equipped with a neck that can usually be removed. Blankets are best used for horses that are very sensitive or reactive to insect bites.
