Nitro Ointment is used for the local treatment and prevention of bacterial infections of wounds, burns, skin ulcers and cracked heels in horses. It can also be used to treat pyoderma in horses.
INDICATIONS
To aid in the treatment of topical bacterial infections associated with certain nitrofurazone-sensitive bacteria in horses.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Cleanse area with soap and water. Dry thoroughly. Apply the ointment directly to the affected area, or place it first on a piece of gauze in direct contact with the affected area, or use a bandage. Keep the ointment in contact with the lesion for 12 to 24 hours. For a moist dressing, dilute with 2 to 3 parts sterile water or saline solution and apply several times a day.
CAUTION
For deep wounds or body cavities, use only as directed by a veterinarian. If redness, irritation or swelling persists, consult a veterinarian.
