DEHYDRATED COLOSTRUM - SHEEP/GOATS
Colostrum ™ is a premium colostrum supplement that prevents passive transfer failure (PTF) of immunity for lambs and kids. Newborn lambs and kids should receive their first meal of LambGro KidGro Colostrum™ as soon as possible after birth, and no later than 6 hours of age. For optimum results, 3 feedings should be given within the first 18 hours of life.
Key benefits
Complement or replace ewe/cow colostrum when quality or quantity is insufficient.
Supplement to help newborn lambs and kids survive and thrive when unable to suckle, such as in multiple births, first pregnancies or when born to sick or weak ewes/goats.
To maintain body temperature and prevent infections in lambs and kids.
Lambs and kids that are too small, weak or stressed can also benefit from continuous feeding with LambGro KidGro Colostrum™ beyond the first day of life.
Instructions for use
Using a whisk, mix 1 part powder into 2 parts water (43 to 49 o C). Feed the mixed colostrum at 15% of the lamb's or kid's body weight divided into 3 meals within 18 hours of birth. It's very important to use warm water and mix vigorously, as the high levels of natural fats and proteins required by young lambs and kids can be difficult to break down and disperse evenly.
Storage
Store out of direct sunlight in a dry place at or below 25 o C. Mixed colostrum can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 72 hours and must be warmed to 40 o C by immersion in water (50 to 55 o C) before feeding. Do not use in the microwave.
Feeding schedule for lambs and kids: recommended 3 feedings per lamb in the first 18 hours.
