APPLICATIONS
For barefoot use:
- Packing your horse's hoof with Sole Pack Hoof Packing a few days before trimming will bring the hoof to a soft state that will facilitate the trimming process.
For use with leather or synthetic pads:
- Clean the foot and trim the hoof. Wrap the hoof with SOLE PACK hoof wrapping paste. Use your fingers to work the paste into the cavities. Apply the pad and shoe to the hoof.
For bandage applications:
- Clean the foot. Wrap the hoof with SOLE PACK hoof-wrapping paste. Use your fingers to work the paste into the cavities. Cover with paper and a polypropylene bandage or boot. If necessary, tape can be used if the bandage or boot won't stay in place.
TREATMENT TIMES
The Sole Pack can be left in place overnight for up to 18 hours. At this point, remove the wrapping and re-examine the foot.
New Sole Pack hoof packing paste can be applied daily until all signs of infection have disappeared, or until the desired hoof suppleness has been restored.
- Thereafter, Sole Pack Hoof Packing Paste can be continued two or three times a week.
