MEDIUM BAUCHER MB - LEVEL 1
The MB 02 is Myler's alternative to the traditional French maillon or diamond mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits. The MB 02 rotates on the tongue, applying pressure to the tongue, but because the mouthpiece is curved, it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. The barrel in the center applies approximately the same pressure to the tongue as a traditional three-piece mouthpiece, however, the barrel distributes pressure more gently and creates Independent Side Movement™.
- Independent Side Movement™
- Stainless steel mouthpiece
- Curved mouthpiece won't pinch lips and bars
- Copper inlay

Also known as the "hanging cheek" because the bridle attaches to the purchase, the Baucher is generally used for dressage. The fixed cheek keeps the bit suspended in the horse's mouth and prevents it from slipping into the bridle, giving the rider more control over the mouthpiece than a traditional loose ring. However, the reins remain free to slide. When engaged, the reins pull on the cheek and mouthpiece, as well as slightly pivoting the purchase forward, creating some probing pressure. Although it has a fixed cheek, the Baucher is still considered a direct rein action cheek as there is no leverage or brake action.
