The MB 02 is Myler's alternative to the traditional French maillon or diamond mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits. The MB 02 rotates on the tongue, applying pressure to the tongue, but because the mouthpiece is curved, it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. The barrel in the center applies approximately the same pressure to the tongue as a traditional three-piece mouthpiece, however, the barrel distributes pressure more gently and creates Independent Side Movement™. The mouthpiece measures 14 mm at cheek level.

An eggbutt is a traditional cheek style that prevents the mouthpiece from draping over the tongue, providing a more direct signal than the loose ring. The right side of the butt doesn't pull through the mouth or pinch. For a more versatile version, see the butt with hooks.
