Before use, cut a hole in the nipple using one of the following methods: Cut the nipple crosswise with a razor blade. Using a sturdy needle or cuticle scissors, push in and out of the tip of the nipple as if you were making a very small stitch or cut, removing the needle by pulling out a small piece. Check the flow with water. A steady drip or thin stream should be obtained when light pressure is applied to the teat.

 

If one or more animals are sick, use another bottle or feed the sick animal last. Wash the bottle, cap and nipple in hot, soapy water and rinse thoroughly after each feeding. If your pet is too small or too weak to suckle, consult your vet.
