Indispensable in the first-aid kit at the stable or in the trailer. Ideal for applying to small scratches (unless there's a risk of frost).  In that case, use only green clay powder.

 

 

 

Ideal in your First Aid Kit at the stable, at home, in the trailer or in the saddlebags when you're out and about. You can safely apply it to a small wound, sting, scratch or bite. If you haven't had the time or opportunity to clean up, don't worry. You can do it when you get home and before the 2nd application.

 

Remember that clay is antiseptic, antibacterial and antifungal. So it's a lot safer to put clay on a wound than leave it out in the open.

 

For any clay poultice (a mixture of water and clay), you'll obviously need to be careful if there's a risk of freezing. In this case, we'll add a bandage and keep the animal in a temperate area. You can also use powdered external green clay to sprinkle over the wound, thus avoiding the risk of freezing.
