Tendon guards are particularly suitable for your horse's front legs. They protect the front legs from hind legs that could catch and hit the front legs. Gaiters therefore consist of a hard shell on the outside and an open front. The lining must be soft and as breathable as possible to prevent the legs from becoming too hot. BR offers a range of highly breathable tendon protectors to prevent overheating injuries.

When buying a pair of gaiters, it's particularly important to get the right size for a perfect fit. Your horse must be able to move well with the gaiters, and there must be no rubbing and/or pressure sores. You also need to make sure that you don't over-tighten the gaiters, as this will put too much pressure on the tendon.
