From the Francois Gauthier brand (Clinician collection) in collaboration with Metalab Western Bits, this version of the Clinician Transition D-bit in brushed stainless steel is distinguished by its meticulous design details and softness.
- Type: Dee ring transition bit, designed for moving smoothly from a basic snaffle to a mild ported bit
- Level: Level One – the softest category, perfect for young or sensitive-mouthed horses
- Mouthpiece: Measures 5 1/8 inches wide, 1/2 inch thick, made of brushed stainless steel, and covered with leather to enhance comfort. The low Futurity-style port allows mild tongue relief and promotes relaxation
- Rings: 3-inch Dee rings with Swivel Free system – allows the rings to rotate independently, eliminating unwanted torque and delivering precise rein cues
Ideal as a transition tool between a basic snaffle and a ported bit. Can be ridden two-handed for greater softness and precision. Best suited for horses that are light in the mouth or sensitive to pressure. Promotes clear, refined communication with minimal discomfort.
MAINTENANCE
As the bit is made of stainless steel and relatively soft metals, it is normal for it to oxidize or rust slightly over time. Avoid washing with water without drying the bit thoroughly afterwards. To preserve the central joint, oil regularly with a mild edible vegetable oil.
